Wild Detectives
Sometimes, you need a change of scenery while working on projects. It can be so easy to get stuck in the same environment day to day. I felt a pull to get out of the house, but I still needed to be productive, especially since Day and Night Botanicals is launching in less than a week! I knew right away where I should go: Wild Detectives. Located in Bishop Arts, it is one of those coffee shops that isn’t like any other.
The ambiance has this sultry rustic elegance without being posh. A variety of professionals come here, from artists and writers to accountants and avid readers. You get a great mix of a little bit of everything.
They were awarded The Best Bookstore from 2014-2016 in Dallas. Offering a safe haven, they contribute to the community in many ways. Some of these include book clubs, storytelling nights, and backyard shows.
This swanky off-radar bookstore seats a great number of guests, enhancing comfort and privacy. Not to mention, they have a delicious bar with classic favorites such as chai iced lattes, Irish coffee, and jazzed-up cocktails.
During this visit, I met a wonderful artist named Paloma. While I was outside taking calls in their beautiful garden, I immediately became curious when I passed her by. Noticing her delicately sketching, I asked what she was working on. She is a local artist here in Dallas. You can check out some of her work here. From time to time, she does exhibitions! In her words, “I just like to make cool things with my friends” (love it).
After I wrapped up my work, I walked over to Written by The Seasons, a delicious contemporary classic. For dinner, I had a gazpacho tomato soup filled with fresh herbs, peppers, and garden tomatoes. This was accompanied by a soft herbal salad and a refreshing cold-pressed watermelon juice. What an amazing end to such a great day.
